Anodizing protects aluminum metal parts by making the surface
much harder than natural aluminum, and involves a process
where the aluminum is placed in an electrolyte in which an
electric current is passed through it. During this anodizing
process a film of aluminum oxide is grown on the outside
of the surface of the metal.
Anodizing resists corrosion, can be color dyed, and provides
good abrasion resistance. Chem Film can be used prior to
anodizing for masking purposes as Anodizing is a good insulator
of electricity.
For more information on our anodizing capacities visit
our capacities page.
